Invitation

Dear Curlers,

Hvidovre Curling Club would like to invite you to the 6th edition of the Hvidovre Mixed Doubles Cup which is held on the 1st - 3rd of March 2024. The tournament is a part of the World Curling Tour and has a non-profit policy.

Information:

Dates:
1st - 3rd of March 2024. First games are expected to start Friday morning depending on the number of teams and system of play. 

Venue:
Hvidovre Curling Club is located in the Frihedens Idrætscenter. The address is Hvidovrevej 446, 2650 Hvidovre, Denmark. The venue is located around 15 minutes away from Copenhagen Airport in car. "Friheden" station is nearby and can take you directly to Copenhagen central within 15 minutes.

Number of teams:
The aim is to include 16 teams.

System of play:
Will depend on the number of teams. All teams however are guaranteed a minimum of four games. All games will be 8 ends. You can expect group stage and knockout phase but more information will be shared after the deadline of entry. 

Prizes:
Prizes for the best 8 teams.
There will be a total expected prize purse of 3.700€ (if 16 teams).

Registration:
You can register your team by filling out the form through the Registration page. Deadline for registration is no later than 31st of December 2023. 
Registration is not a guarantee to get a spot. Acceptance is done on a continuous basis by the tournament committee, however an early registration will be an advantage for your acceptance. 

Entry fee:
250€. The entry fee must be paid by bank transfer no later than 20th of January 2024. Any bank charges are the responsibility of each participating team. Additional information will be sent out to the accepted teams by e-mail when the registration deadline has passed.
Be aware that in case you withdraw from the tournament after payment 20th of January 2024, you will get 50% returned of your entry fee. After the 16th of February 2024 it will no longer be possible to get any of your entry fee returned.

Facilities:
Hvidovre Curling Club is a dedicated curling rink which houses the best teams in Denmark. The club has also recently bought completely new curling stones which will be available for the 2022/23 season.

Accommodation

Accommodation:
The nearest accommodation possibilities are the hostel "Belægningen" and Hotel Scandic.
Copenhagen central however is not far away and can easily be accessed by public transportation (approx 15 min.) if you wish to stay in Copenhagen.
